The official gazette in Egypt published a decision stating that the Egyptian Prime Minister, Mostafa Madbouly, will assume a new position in addition to his duties as Prime Minister. The issued decisions include President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi assigning Mostafa Madbouly to the role of Minister responsible for Administrative Reform Affairs alongside his current role.
Last Wednesday, the new Egyptian government took the constitutional oath at the Presidential Headquarters in New Cairo, before President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. The new government witnessed significant changes, including a decrease in the military backgrounds of ministers, as it includes 31 ministerial portfolios, of which 28 are specialized ministries and 3 are sovereign ministries.
This reshuffle represents the widest ministerial change in the history of the government, with 20 ministers being changed, 8 ministers remaining in their positions, 2 ministers being reassigned to other portfolios, and a deputy minister and a deputy governor being promoted.
35% of the government members possess international and regional experience, while those with military backgrounds have decreased to 16%, and the average age of the ministers has reduced to 56 years.
