The town of Majdal Shams in the occupied Golan Heights held the funeral for 12 children, 8 boys and 4 girls, earlier today, amidst a large gathering of residents from the predominantly Druze area. Thousands of local residents and religious leaders participated in the funeral rites, carrying the white coffins on their shoulders and chanting funeral hymns. Israeli Channel 13 reported that residents of Majdal Shams attacked members of the Likud party who attended the funeral of the victims of the missile strike. The Hebrew site "Walla" revealed that Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich faced protests upon his arrival in Majdal Shams to attend the victims' funeral.
This comes as approximately 40 people remain hospitalized, with some in serious condition. A missile struck a football field in the town of Majdal Shams on Saturday evening, resulting in the deaths of 12 children and injuries to others. Israel has blamed "Hezbollah" for the incident, vowing a response, while "Hezbollah" has denied responsibility for the event.
