Fatah: Iran Uses Palestinian Blood as a Leverage to Showcase Its Influence

Fatah Revolutionary Council member Mohamed Al-Hourani stated that Iran is using Palestinian blood as a card to showcase its influence. He added in statements to "Al Arabiya/Al Hadath" on Wednesday that part of the Arab youth has been deceived by Iranian slogans and must recognize their danger. He also clarified that "Hamas is a Palestinian organization, and we hope it will abandon exploitative regional alliances."

Al-Hourani's remarks came after Iranian Revolutionary Guard spokesman Ramadan Sharif announced that the "Al-Aqsa Flood" operation executed by Hamas was in response to the assassination of Quds Force commander Qassem Soleimani three years ago in Iraq, a claim Hamas denied.

Sharif confirmed in a earlier press conference that the events of October 7 were part of the retaliation for Soleimani's assassination, warning Tel Aviv of a similar attack in response to the killing of Colonel in the Guard, Razi Mousavi. The Iranian official hinted at the possibility of another attack similar to "October 7," referring to the surprise assault carried out by Palestinian factions on areas surrounding Gaza, which resulted in over 1,200 casualties.

In contrast, Hamas clarified in a statement on Wednesday that it has repeatedly emphasized the motives and reasons behind the "Al-Aqsa Flood" operation, primarily the threats facing Al-Aqsa Mosque. It added that "all acts of Palestinian resistance come in response to the existence of occupation and its ongoing aggression against our people," as expressed.
