Lebanese sports, especially "teqball," have achieved a national accomplishment by securing the first position in both global and Asian rankings in terms of administrative and technical performance. This achievement was announced during the proceedings of the General Assembly of the International Teqball Federation, which was recently held in Hungary.
The Lebanese national team in teqball participated in several external tournaments and events in 2022, as outlined below:
- Global Challenge Series (France)
- Global Challenge Series (Poland)
- European Championship (Hungary)
- Training Camp (Serbia)
- World Championship in Nuremberg (Germany)
The national team achieved commendable results, attaining the best ranking for its male and female players globally as follows:
- Women's Singles: Maria Chidiac - 5th place
- Men's Singles: Ahmad Aroubi - 9th place
- Men's Doubles: Ahmad Aroubi and Mohamed Hafez - 9th place
- Women's Doubles: Maria Chidiac and Qamar Dandal - 5th place
- Mixed Doubles: Maria Chidiac and Mohamed Hafez - 9th place
On his part, the Secretary-General of the Lebanese Teqball Federation, Wissam Turkmani, stated that these rankings for Lebanon and the national team are the result of good planning by the federation, as well as the effort and perseverance of the technical staff and players. He expressed hope for the continued implementation of developmental plans that will propel the sport in Lebanon towards further growth and the achievement of desired goals.
