Qatar and UAE Participate in Security Coverage for the 2024 Olympics

Paris will welcome "several foreign forces" to assist in securing the Olympic Games, which will be held in the French capital from July 26 to August 11. Among the forces expected to be present in Paris, Qatari security forces will contribute to the Olympic security coverage by deploying officers for foot patrols, at the national operations center, along with cavalry, drone surveillance, explosives disposal, cybersecurity analysts, explosive detection dogs, counter-terrorism units, and riot control.

Qatari security forces will also be involved in managing civil security for international sporting events, providing specialized vehicle inspection means, and conducting emergency rescue and search operations. According to the French Ministry of Defense, this practice is common, noting that French soldiers participated in ensuring the security of the FIFA World Cup in Qatar in late 2022.

The UAE will also dispatch a UAE police support team that has completed specialized training and will later depart to assist their counterparts from global police teams in securing the "Paris 2024" Olympic Games. The team includes female officers from the UAE Ministry of Interior and qualified trained personnel representing specialized units from various police sectors, K9 units, and security support teams.

According to "24KZ," more than 30,000 police officers will provide security daily during the Olympic Games in Paris. A total of 63,000 law enforcement and military personnel will be deployed at the opening ceremony of the global championship. The athletes' parade is expected to take place outdoors on the opening day, with delegations traveling on separate boats along the Seine River. The teams' ships have been equipped with cameras for security purposes. Additionally, the sale of stun weapons and any explosives will be restricted during the competition, noting that the French capital plans to host over 10,000 athletes and 300,000 spectators.
