Following the Israeli attack on southern Lebanon, the Health Emergency Operations Center of the Ministry of Public Health announced in a statement that "as a result of the phosphorus shells that fell in the town of Khyam, a woman required emergency treatment at the Marjeyoun Government Hospital. Additionally, as a result of the phosphorus shells that fell in the town of Talousa, two citizens needed respiratory treatment and admission to the Tebnine Government Hospital." The center emphasized "the health risks caused by the repeated firing of phosphorus shells by the Israeli enemy," and urged the international community "to take a stand denouncing the use of these shells, which are explicitly prohibited by international law due to the harm they cause in the short, medium, and long term."
