Social media has been abuzz with the story of an Egyptian father who lost three of his sick children within a few hours, while his fourth and last son remains in critical condition, prompting him to ask everyone for prayers for recovery.
Grief has enveloped the residents of the Belina Center in the south of Sohag Governorate in Upper Egypt following the death of three siblings within a time span of only hours due to an undisclosed illness, as the fourth sibling fights for survival.
Users on social media shared posts from the grieving father praying for the recovery of his four children. He then reshared a post to mourn his child "Mohamed," only to share another hours later mourning the second child "Mahmoud," and then, after a few more hours, mourning his daughter, eventually ending with a plea for prayers for the recovery of his fourth child "Ahmed."
The devastated father posted on his Facebook page: "My son Mohamed has passed away; I ask you to pray for his siblings that God grants them a healing that leaves no trace of illness. Then my second son Mahmoud has also passed; we ask you to pray for his brother and sister for a speedy recovery. Finally, my daughter has passed; I ask you to pray for her last sibling Ahmed for a swift healing."
The story of Osama Abdu Al-Azhari, the father of the children and a teacher at the religious institute in Araba Abydos in the Belina Center, has moved thousands of Facebook users in Egypt as many shared his posts mourning his three children and praying for the recovery of the fourth.
