Basketball: Lebanon Participates in West Asia Championship in Iraq

On Wednesday morning, the Lebanese under-18 boys' basketball national team departed to Baghdad, Iraq, to participate in the West Asia Championship, which qualifies for the Asian Championship for this age group. The regional tournament will take place from July 11 to July 15.

The members of the delegation are as follows: Hicham Gradi (President), Gilbert Zghandi (Team Manager), Greek Iounis Diamantakos (Coach), Maroun Dib and Ghadi Abu Joudeh (Assistant Coaches), Mohammad Al Jammal (Physiotherapist), Jan Shakar (Fitness Coach), and players Kareem Awidat, Ray Abu Suleiman, Johnny Souma, Anthony Naba, Nikolai Shweiri, Ibrahim Rayan Al-Tawil, Hadi Al-Khatib, Aldo Al-Quba, Jonathan Abu Atmeh, Omar Younes, Karl Younes, and Jayson Al-Daqs.

The delegation is accompanied by international referee Sergio Kassab. The six participating teams in the regional championship are divided into two groups:

- Group A: Iran, Yemen, and Iraq.

- Group B: Lebanon, Jordan, and Palestine.

The Lebanese team will start its matches against Palestine on Thursday and will face Jordan on Saturday in the final round of the group stage.
