Who is the Precious Target of Turkey Neutralized in Northern Iraq?

The conflict between Turkey and Kurdish organizations is ongoing and has historically been marked by its complexities and violence. Today, in a notable development, Turkey announced that its intelligence has neutralized Faik Aydin, who is responsible for recruiting members for the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in Europe, during a special operation in northern Iraq at a depth of 160 kilometers.

The official Anadolu Agency reported that security sources stated, "Turkish intelligence closely monitored Aydin, whose codename is 'Renas Raperin,' and proved his involvement in terrorist activities in Europe." The Turkish government classifies the PKK as a terrorist organization.

The sources added that "Aydin later moved to northern Iraq, where he exerted pressure on the residents of Sulaymaniyah to support the PKK and join its ranks." They pointed out that "Turkish intelligence decided to execute an operation against Aydin after he played a critical role within the terrorist organization."

It was indicated that "intelligence was able to neutralize Aydin following a special operation 160 kilometers from the Turkish border in northern Iraq." Aydin participated in the activities of the organization in Europe, where he worked on recruiting new members for the PKK.

After many years spent within the organization in Europe, he moved to northern Iraq in 2015 and joined the armed groups of the organization.

On another note, the sources clarified that Faik's brother, Saygın Aydin, was involved in the organization's activities in the eastern Turkish province of Erzurum between 2014 and 2018, before being neutralized in 2018, while his other brother, Farhad Aydin, was killed while active within the YPG/PKK in northern Syria between 2013 and 2014.
