Arrest of a Member of a Gang Involved in the Theft of a Van in Qbayat

The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces announced in a statement that "on April 5, 2024, a citizen identified as (born in 1995) reported that unknown individuals, using force, robbed him of a white van in the town of Qbayat and fled to an unknown location. Immediately, specialized units in the Information Division began their field and intelligence procedures to identify the perpetrators and arrest them. As a result of extensive investigations and inquiries, the division was able to identify their identities, including: M. D. H. (born in 1997, Lebanese). On May 24, 2024, following precise surveillance, one of the division's patrols managed to arrest the suspect in a well-planned ambush in the town of Qbayat. During the investigation, he confessed to the charges against him and indicated the location of the stolen van, which was subsequently recovered by one of the division's patrols. Legal action was taken against him, and he and the seized van were handed over to the relevant authority, based on the orders of the competent judiciary, and efforts are ongoing to arrest the other involved parties."
