The spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, stated that the initiative of American billionaire Elon Musk is part of the public discussion, as the West has begun to ask questions about what is happening in Ukraine. This was mentioned by Zakharova in a statement to "Sputnik" radio this morning, where she continued that "there is no point in commenting on all this, because this is a public discussion that includes various people – politicians, public figures, businessmen, financiers, those interested in charity, intellectuals, artists, each with their own opinion, participating in this discussion, each with their own goal and mission."
Zakharova pointed out that the world is "not experiencing changes, but rather earthquakes stirred by the West related to the situation in Ukraine, and finally perhaps in the West they have begun to ask questions: what does all this mean, and why is all this happening? But the most important question is what is the role of the White House, the United States, and NATO structures in all this?"
Musk had written on Monday, October 3, that he doubts Ukraine can win in the event of a full-scale war with Russia and urged both sides to seek peace, presenting his vision for a resolution to the conflict, which includes a plan calling for "a re-referendum in Donbas under the supervision of the United Nations," keeping Crimea officially part of Russia as it was since 1783 "before Khrushchev's mistake," ensuring water supply to Crimea, and declaring Ukraine's neutrality.
