Title: White House: Biden Made 148 Errors in Public Statements in 2024

White House communications staff had to correct President Joe Biden's public statements at least 148 times since the beginning of 2024, according to a review of the official White House transcripts. The White House issues an official transcript whenever the president gives a speech or takes questions. An analysis by the "Daily Caller" showed that communications staff often correct, add, or change Biden's official statements to align them with official White House policy or, in some cases, reality.

In several instances, official statements had to be altered to convey the opposite of what Biden actually said. Some modifications included corrections to names, dates, and organizational titles, while others changed verbs and entirely adjusted the meaning of the president's statement. Words that the U.S. president did not say but should have, according to White House staff, were also added to the transcripts, as reported by the "Daily Caller."

The site published some of Biden's statements and the alterations, such as the following statement: "We have vaccinated the majority of America. We have gotten over this pandemic with fewer than 200 million people - with fewer than 2 million people vaccinated when I took office... Today, 720 [270] million Americans have received the COVID vaccine," according to the White House transcript from a campaign reception on January 30. (The total population of the U.S. is about 333 million, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.)

Overall, Biden misrepresented names or titles of individuals, places, and groups 20 times from January 1 to April 24, according to the Daily Caller analysis. He made errors in representing the numbers of his achievements, often confusing thousands with millions, billions, and trillions 12 times. When recounting stories, the Daily Caller analysis found that Biden often mixed pronouns, sometimes saying "we" instead of "he" when referring to former President Donald Trump. White House transcripts corrected this 13 times.
