Heat Wave in Iraq: Temperatures to Exceed 50 Degrees

Meteorologist Ali Al-Jaber Al-Ziyadi revealed the expected end of the heat wave affecting most Iraqi cities as temperatures approach boiling point. Al-Ziyadi stated to "Baghdad Today" that the peak of the heat wave is anticipated in the coming hours until next Saturday, where most of the provinces in the central Euphrates, the south, the capital Baghdad, and Diyala will record temperatures exceeding 50 degrees Celsius.

He noted that the heat will be particularly felt during the afternoon hours, and the activity of the "simoom" winds will have a positive effect, making the conditions slightly better despite the high temperatures, especially in the evenings.

The meteorologist added that the heat wave is expected to break starting from next Sunday in western regions, while it will end in most provinces of the country by Monday, with a drop in temperatures by four degrees, returning the atmosphere to normal.

Iraq and the surrounding region have been experiencing a heat wave since the occurrence of Eid al-Adha, which has led to significant fatalities among pilgrims, as well as an increase in wildfire incidents in Iraq.
