Iranian media announced today, Wednesday, that "a large-scale cyber attack targeted the Iranian central bank, leading to widespread disruptions in the country's banking systems." Iran rejected on Tuesday a call from three European countries to refrain from any "retaliatory attacks" that would escalate regional tensions, asserting that it "does not need permission to defend its national security."
