The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Division in Blat announced that "within the framework of the daily monitoring conducted by the Internal Security Forces to limit crimes of various kinds in all Lebanese regions, and as a result of field efforts and intelligence carried out by the relevant units in the Information Branch, a person was suspected of committing thefts in different areas of Mount Lebanon. Through intensive investigations and scrutiny, the branch was able to identify him as G. M. (born in 1986, Lebanese), who has two judicial verdicts related to drug offenses and theft.
On August 30, 2023, after careful observation and surveillance, one of the branch's patrols managed to arrest him in the area of Choueifat while he was riding a black motorcycle, which was seized. Upon searching him and the motorcycle, three bags were found, one of which contained house keys, car keys, personal papers and documents belonging to a woman, in addition to a mobile phone, a sum of money, and a motorcycle key.
During the investigation, he confessed to the charges against him regarding his involvement in multiple thefts in the areas of Makless and Khalde, using two motorcycles, one of which was the one he was arrested on, and a second blue motorcycle. He also admitted that the bag seized from him contained keys and personal documents that he had stolen in the neighborhood of Makless prior to his arrest. Additionally, he confessed to using drugs.
Legal measures were taken against him, and he was handed over along with the seized items to the relevant authorities, based on the instructions of the competent judiciary."
