The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced on Thursday that "BMW will recall 105,558 crossover and sedan vehicles in the United States, issuing a software update to address concerns regarding the starter motor, which can overheat." The recall includes several models, including some X5 and X7 vehicles, as well as certain models from the 3 Series and 7 Series. The agency stated, "In the event of a starter motor failure, repeated attempts to start the vehicle could cause it to overheat due to excessive electrical load."
