In Tripoli, several employees from the Qadisha Electricity Company invaded a bank in protest against a decision to deduct 3% from their salaries and entitlements, according to their account. While all transactions were halted within the bank, negotiations began between the bank management and a delegation from the Qadisha Employees' Union.
The employees announced that the bank "has not yet disbursed their salaries and intends to deduct 3% from them and other entitlements, amounting to 500,000 Lebanese pounds," and confirmed that "they will not allow this and will remain inside the bank until its management rescinds this unjust decision."
