Sheikh Na'im Qassem, the Deputy Secretary-General of Hezbollah, renewed the threat to Israel in response to the assassination of senior party leader Fouad Shuqair in airstrikes that targeted a building in the southern suburb. Qassem stated in a media statement: "Every time we have a martyr, we become more resolute, especially if it is a leader among leaders," asserting that "this martyrdom will yield very significant results, and the response will be present, important, and impactful." He added: "We are convinced of this result and, God willing, it will be a significant step on the path to victory," noting: "We are rightful owners and we must confront the axis of evil, and we will triumph."
