Strange Incident: A Man Divorces His Wife to Marry Her Sister in Egypt

A bizarre incident occurred in the Family Court in Egypt, where an employee decided to divorce his wife in absentia after 12 years of marriage to marry her sister. Lawyer Noha El-Gendy stated in press remarks that her client, Ola F, 38, was shocked to find out that her husband had been cheating on her with her sister. They had been in a relationship for a full four years without her knowledge, with her husband meeting her half-sister Rasha F, 28, at her apartment. She also learned from neighbors that her sister had been visiting their home in her absence while her husband was there.

After betraying her for all those years, the husband decided to divorce his wife to marry her sister. The lawyer indicated that her client is experiencing significant shock, as she never imagined she would be betrayed by the two people closest to her. The wife, overwhelmed by what happened, developed diabetes shortly after receiving this shocking news.

The wife recounted that she had been caring for her sick sister and had paid a considerable sum for her sister's surgery, only for her to betray her in the end. Since Islamic law and regulations prohibit marrying two sisters simultaneously, the husband had to wait for his wife's waiting period to end before marrying her sister, which he indeed did.

Lawyer Noha El-Gendy confirmed that the husband is refusing to pay his ex-wife and children’s entitlements, prompting her client to file several lawsuits before the Family Court in Al-Haram, which are still under consideration and have not yet been ruled on.
