The Assistant Chief of Staff of the Libyan Army in Tripoli, Salah Al-Namroush, has instructed Libyan army units to increase their readiness to counter any potential attack, according to a source from the General Staff in the capital. These instructions from Al-Namroush come in response to the movements of military forces affiliated with the General Command of the Armed Forces of Eastern Libya toward the town of Shuwairif in southwest Libya. Al-Namroush's concerns focus on the possibility of an attack on the city of Ghadames (near the border triangle of Libya with Tunisia and Algeria in the western part of the country) and the control of the Dabdab border crossing with Algeria. In recent days, military convoys belonging to the General Command of the Libyan Army, led by Khalifa Haftar, have headed toward the town of Shuwairif in southwest Libya.
