Ana Maria Marković, a player for Swiss football club Grasshoppers and ranked as the most beautiful player in the world, revealed that she has exchanged private messages with Brazilian star Neymar from Paris Saint-Germain. The 22-year-old Croatian national team star has gained widespread fame in recent months due to her stunning appearance, with over a million followers on social media platform Instagram.
However, Marković's aim is not only to promote herself but also to help her fellow female footballers. She hopes Neymar, one of the famous faces she reached out to, will assist her in this. In a television interview with the program min20, Marković admitted that she contacted Neymar and sent him several messages via Twitter’s private messaging feature to seek help regarding a women's football issue.
Marković stated, "I am in touch with male football players because we are in the same profession, whether it's colleagues at Grasshoppers or international players." She added, "I communicate with them regularly, but only to talk about football. Neymar is an incredible football player, and I hope I can convince him to support women's football."
Marković advocates for equality, believing that female footballers face more discrimination on social media than their male counterparts. She continued: "For example, when I wear a bikini on social media or when Erling Haaland appears in his swim trunks... it’s clear that Erling does not receive the same sexual comments." She commented, "Men always talk about honor, but it would truly be honorable for them to stand behind us in such situations."
Marković has previously stated that Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo, currently of Manchester United, is her favorite player, alongside Croatian Luka Modrić of Real Madrid.
