Jordanian authorities decided today, Saturday, to release 15 individuals who were detained during their recent protest near the Israeli embassy in the capital, Amman. The spokesperson for the Ministry of Interior stated that the total number of individuals released reached 55, adding, "Regarding the remaining detainees, their files will be reviewed by a security committee formed in the capital governorate to make an appropriate decision regarding them during this week." Since the start of the Gaza war, the vicinity of the Israeli embassy in the Rabiah area of Amman has witnessed massive protests demanding the severing of all relations with Tel Aviv, expelling its ambassador, and canceling the peace treaty and various agreements between the two countries. During these protests, security forces detained several demonstrators on charges of violating the law by inciting riots and attempting to assault security personnel.
