The House of Representatives held a fourth session to elect a new president for the republic, just six days before the end of President Michel Aoun's term. There were no surprises, as no new president was elected, and the quorum was lost in the second round. The quorum was met in the first round, with the votes distributed as follows: 39 votes for Michel Moawad, 50 blank ballots, 10 votes for Issam Khalifa, 13 votes for Lebanon Al-Jadeed, and two invalid votes, one of which read "May you be safe." The session was adjourned before the second round due to the loss of quorum.
Council President Nabih Berri has tentatively scheduled the next session for Thursday, to be confirmed later. A total of 114 deputies attended the session, while others, including deputies Hassan Murad, Hussein Al-Haj Hassan, Jihad Al-Samad, Nadim Gemayel, Ziad Hawwat, and Tony Franjieh, were excused from attending. Notably, Issam Khalifa's name stood out during the session, as he received 10 votes, indicating that the "Change" bloc supported his candidacy.
