Al-Hilal's management is working to offload some players while retaining several key elements, in addition to signing notable deals this summer. After winning the domestic treble, including the Saudi League, Super Cup, and King’s Cup last season, Al-Hilal aims to maintain its dominance over these titles while also targeting the AFC Champions League trophy. Furthermore, Fahd bin Nafel, the president of Al-Hilal, previously stated that the club’s primary goal for the upcoming season is to compete for the FIFA Club World Cup title in 2025.
All of these factors have led the management to consider various reinforcements across different positions, but they are currently facing three crises. The first is with Brazilian left-back Renan Lodi, who joined the club in January but has struggled to prove himself. Many reports and reliable sources indicate that Al-Hilal is seeking to part ways with him but is facing challenges in marketing his contract, especially since the player has not performed well.
Additionally, the "blue" team is experiencing another crisis in the right-back position, following the European offers received for Saud Abdul Hamid, who is looking to take on a professional experience. The management is attempting to retain his services by renewing his contract.
The third crisis involves the transfer of Brazilian winger Raphinha from Barcelona, who is valued by Portuguese coach Jorge Jesus, according to reports. Al-Hilal has made an offer of 100 million euros to secure Raphinha's services, which has prompted Barcelona's management to consider selling the player. However, the issue lies in the Brazilian star's refusal to leave.
It is expected that many changes will occur in the coming weeks, particularly with the start of the summer transfer market on July 18.
