Bank Statement

The media department at the "Bank of Resources" issued a statement saying, "Today, one of the depositors stormed the bank branch in Antelias using Molotov cocktails, vandalized the branch, threatened employees, and seized an amount that exceeds several times the value of his deposit."

It noted that "the bank had agreed to open an account for the attacking depositor in 2020, after the outbreak of the October 17, 2019 revolution, where he deposited an amount in the national currency. The bank later converted it to US dollars at the official exchange rate at that time, which was 1,500 L.L. for one US dollar. Throughout 2021, the account was funded by bank checks, emphasizing that the bank has never ceased to execute the attacking depositor's requests and instructions according to the circulars of the Central Bank numbered 151, 158, and 161."

The statement praised the efforts of the Antelias forces in apprehending the assailant and recovering the stolen amount. The attacking depositor has been placed under investigation with the consent of the public prosecution, requiring clarification.
