The Kuwaiti Court of Appeals upheld the death sentence for a man convicted of killing his wife, extracting her fetus, and dismembering her body into small parts, which he then disposed of in various locations across the governorates. This crime occurred after the wife informed him that she was pregnant, despite their secret marriage. The defense counsel for the victim's heirs demanded the maximum penalty against the accused—death—and asserted that the defendant committed the crime. They also requested an additional charge for possession of a weapon, specifically a cleaver and a knife that he purchased to commit the crime, according to the newspaper Al-Qabas.
Investigations revealed that the wife was six months pregnant when the crime took place in 2022. The husband initially cut open his wife's abdomen, removed the six-month-old fetus, and placed it in a bag. The man, who is in his fifties, then dismembered the victim's body into 20 pieces, placed them in bags, and distributed them across different trash containers in various governorates.
Police became aware of her disappearance through a report filed by her sister, who informed the authorities that the accused "secretly married her sister, and only she knew about it. However, she disappeared months ago, and I have been trying to reach her without success and fear that he may have harmed her." This prompted the authorities to investigate the report, revealing the horrific details of the crime.
