Awards of the Ninth Saudi Film Festival

The films "Abd" directed by Mansour Asad and "The Crow's Song" directed by Mohammed Al-Suliman shared the top awards in the feature film competition at the ninth edition of the Saudi Film Festival, which concluded today, Thursday. The film "Abd" won the Golden Palm Award for Best Feature Film and also received awards for Best Editing and Best Adapted Screenplay. The film "The Crow's Song" received the Jury's Award in addition to awards for Best Actor for actor Issam Awad and Best Cinematography.

The Best Actress award in the feature film competition went to Asil Imran for her role in the film "The Valley Road" directed by Khalid Fahd. The jury awarded the Best Gulf Feature Film to the two Iraqi films "The Wooden Man" directed by Qutayba Al-Janabi and "The Last Bus" directed by Saad Al-Sabbagh.

In the short narrative film competition, the Golden Palm Award was won by the film "Tiryak" directed by Hasan Said, while the Jury's Award went to the film "Zabarjad" directed by Hussein Al-Mutlaq. Fatima Al-Sharif won the Best Actress award in this competition for her role in "Zabarjad," while Hakim Jumaa received the Best Actor award for his role in the film "Don't Go Far."

The Abdullah Al-Muhaysin Award for Best First Film was awarded to "Kabreet" directed by Salma Murad, and the film "Monster from the Sky" directed by Mariam Khayat won the award for Best Animated Film. The Golden Palm Award for Best Short Gulf Film went to "A Place in Time" directed by Emirati Nawaf Al-Janahi.

In the documentary film competition, the Golden Palm Award was won by "Under One Sky" directed by Mujtaba Said, while the jury awarded its prize to the film "The Story of the King of Journalism" directed by Hasan Said. The Jabal Tuwaiq Award for Best Documentary Film about a Saudi City went to "The Najdi Ardha" directed by Faisal Al-Otaibi, and the film "Trukaj" directed by Ahmed Abu Zanada received the Unique Documentary Topic award. The Golden Palm Award for Best Gulf Documentary went to "Long Distances" directed by Ali Al-Baimani and Hamad Al-Qasabi from Oman.
