In the latest controversial remarks from Kuwaiti media figure Fajr Al-Saeed, she commented on Hisham Ashour, the ex-husband of actress Nelly Kareem. Fajr Al-Saeed mocked the Egyptian actor Hisham Ashour for his Gulf accent. Hisham Ashour recently appeared alongside Egyptian media personality and actor Edward, speaking in a Gulf dialect.
Fajr Al-Saeed wrote on Instagram: "Brother Hisham Ashour, I don’t know where he heard Gulf people speaking like that, maybe in the movie (Antar and Abla) by Siraj Munir and he thinks that this is Gulf." The Kuwaiti media figure added, "The disaster is not with Hisham Ashour, the disaster is with the male and female presenters who applaud him and say (great in Gulf)."
Hisham Ashour is a former squash player and the older brother of Rami Ashour, having achieved a high world ranking, reaching number 11 in February 2012. Nelly Kareem and Hisham Ashour separated at the end of May last year after two and a half years of marriage. At that time, she said on Instagram: "A person grows three times their age when they try to adapt to a life that is not suitable for them."
