Training Course for Lebanese Journalists in Emergency Response

The Civil Defense organized a training course for Lebanese journalists under the patronage of Abdel Hadi Mahfoud, the head of the National Council for Audiovisual Media, considering the risks faced by Lebanon, particularly for journalists and media personnel while performing their professional duties in the south. The course took place over two consecutive days at the Ministry of Information building in Beirut, featuring lectures and live training conducted by the Civil Defense team to empower the press and media crew to ensure their safety and protect their colleagues.

The first day included a training session on first aid led by trainer Hadi Fattallah, and a presentation on safety procedures regarding phosphorus hazards by trainer Farah Al-Qaisi. Trainer Qassem Khater explained how to act during building collapses to ensure personal safety and assist others. A training session on fire extinguishing and evacuation methods was conducted by trainer Khaled Al-Tawil. The second training day focused on "Methods of Evacuating Buildings during Fires, Fire Extinguishing Techniques, and Actions to Maintain Personal and Public Safety," whether in the case of small or large fires. The trainees executed a live drill on how to extinguish fires, applying various first aid methods and other urgent interventions necessary to save lives.
