On Saturday, the "Sumaria News" channel reported that the home of Deputy Taqi Nasir Al-Waeli was the target of a terrorist armed attack in the Al-Dawli neighborhood of Baghdad. A statement from the Ishraqa Kanon bloc noted that "the deputy representing Ishraqa Kanon, Taqi Nasir Al-Waeli, and his family were subjected to an armed terrorist assault at their home in Al-Dawli, Baghdad, by a group acting outside the law, who used light and medium weapons in this attack."
The statement added, "This treacherous and cowardly act did not result in any casualties, despite the damage inflicted on buildings and vehicles." It also emphasized, "While we condemn this crime against the deputy, his family, and all citizens, we demand that the government, represented by the Prime Minister and the Minister of Interior, take the necessary measures to pursue the criminals and bring them to justice for accountability under the law, and not to overlook such actions for any reason, in order to ensure the safety and security of the people."
The Ishraqa Kanon movement announced that their deputy, Taqi Al-Waeli, and his family were attacked in Baghdad. The movement stated in their announcement: "Today, Deputy Taqi Nasir Al-Waeli and his honorable family were subjected to an armed terrorist assault at their home in the Al-Dawli area of Baghdad by a group acting outside the law."
