Ukrainian Economy Minister Yulia Svyrydenko stated on Thursday that she "arrived on a visit to Turkey aimed at strengthening economic cooperation and discussing the ratification of a free trade agreement between the two countries." Svyrydenko added on the X social media platform: "The agenda also includes expanding cooperation between Ukrainian and Turkish companies within the framework of the free trade agreement, as well as in the context of Ukraine's reconstruction and integration with the European Union." She mentioned that discussions will also cover food security, Ukrainian peace initiatives, regional trade, navigation security, and the demining of the Black Sea. Turkey is among Ukraine's top five trading partners, and the free trade agreement will eliminate customs duties on a large number of Ukrainian goods, making them more competitive. The Ukrainian parliament has not yet set a date for the ratification of the agreement.
