Continuing Developments: Ongoing Meetings of the Emergency Committee

The "Al-Jadeed" channel reported that the ministerial emergency committee meets continuously but does not announce these meetings to avoid causing panic among the Lebanese. In this context, government sources confirmed to LBCI that the national emergency committee has been monitoring recent developments since Saturday evening, considering the potential for the escalation of attacks. The sources clarified that the committee holds continuous meetings both centrally and locally. Furthermore, they stated that crisis committees and cells are coordinating at the level of ministries and governorates, especially in the southern governorate and Nabatiyeh, with medical, emergency, and civil defense institutions being mobilized in anticipation of any emergency or potential aggression. The committee’s coordinator, Minister Nasser Yassin, continues to communicate with the United Nations humanitarian coordinator, as well as international and local relief organizations, to enhance readiness and support the efforts led by Prime Minister Najib Mikati to reduce tensions. LBCI reported that the meetings are ongoing and will continue tomorrow morning at the governmental palace, chaired by the Prime Minister.
