Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati met with Minister of Public Health Faras Al-Abyad at the Grand Serail this morning. Al-Abyad stated after the meeting: "We discussed several topics including the preparations made by the Ministry of Health as part of the emergency plan set by the government to enhance the readiness of the health sector, including hospitals and healthcare centers, as well as the treatment of the injured in light of the Israeli assaults on the southern region, in addition to the issue of displaced people and their affairs." He added, "One of the items on the Cabinet's agenda concerns securing advances for government hospitals to assist them in increasing their preparedness in case of any emergency. We also addressed general health issues and how the ministry operates to secure medications and healthcare for citizens, and the funding for the ministry to enable us to continue this work. We received full support from the president for the efforts being made by the ministry." The Prime Minister also met with Minister of Interior and Municipalities Bassam Molawi.
