Drug Trade and Promotion in the Suburb: Their Fate!

The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement today, Saturday: "As part of the ongoing monitoring carried out by the specialized units in the Internal Security Forces to combat drug trade and promotion operations across various Lebanese regions, information was received about individuals unknown for promoting drugs in the southern suburb, either on foot or riding a white motorcycle. As a result of continuous field monitoring and investigations conducted by the specialized units of the Information Division, it was determined that the mastermind behind these operations was identified as: A. A. (born in 1996, Syrian), who is wanted under an arrest warrant for theft.

Through intensive inquiries and investigations, the division was able to identify his location, with an individual at the Dora neighborhood, and determine the identity of the latter and another dealer working with him, namely: H. A. (born in 1996, Syrian) dealer, and M. H. (born in 1995, Syrian). On February 16, 2024, after precise observation and monitoring, one of the division patrols successfully arrested the mentioned individuals in a specialized operation in Dora.

Upon searching them and the house, a quantity of various types of drugs was seized (marijuana, hashish, cocaine, cocaine base, etc.), divided and stored in plastic bags and containers, ready for promotion. Additionally, cigarette wrapping papers, a sword, and a sum of money were confiscated. During the investigation, the first admitted to being active in drug trade and promotion for several dealers in the Bekaa, in the southern suburb, along with the second, who admitted to the charges against him. The third confessed to using drugs and obtaining them from the aforementioned individuals, stating that the seized sword belonged to him, which he bought for self-defense.

It was also revealed that the second individual was involved in a vandalism incident and the theft of a "Nissan Sentra" car from the Damascus Road area on May 11, 2022. Legal action was taken against them, and they, along with the confiscated items, were referred to the relevant authority based on the indication of the competent judiciary."
