"Critical Moment"... What Did Britain Communicate to Mikati?

Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati received a call from British Foreign Secretary David Lammy, during which bilateral relations and the situation in Lebanon and the region were discussed. During the call, the British minister stated, "It is a critical moment for stability in the Middle East, and there can be no further delays; the fighting must stop now." He emphasized "the necessity for all parties to urgently and immediately de-escalate the situation." For his part, Mikati thanked the British minister "for the British government's ongoing concern for Lebanon and its commitment to preserving stability in the country."
