China has successfully launched a satellite into high Earth orbit, aimed at providing internet services to users. This was reported by the China Academy of Space Technology, which stated on its WeChat social network page that the satellite was launched at 21:14 on August 1st, Beijing time (16:14 Moscow time) from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in Sichuan Province using a CZ-3B rocket, marking the 529th launch of this type of rocket. It is worth mentioning that the CZ-3B/E is a three-stage rocket with a diameter of 4.2 meters and a length of 56.3 meters. It can carry 12 tons of payload to low Earth orbit and 5.5 tons to geostationary orbit. Notably, China launched 63 spacecraft in 2023, and this number is expected to reach 100 in 2024.
