Talmudic Rituals Inside a Mosque: Palestinian Foreign Ministry's Response

The Palestinian Foreign Ministry considered the incursion of Israeli soldiers into a mosque in the Jenin refugee camp, where they sang and performed Talmudic rituals through loudspeakers, a "flagrant violation of the sanctity and holiness of the mosque." The statement from the ministry added that the soldiers' actions were "a mockery of all human, religious, and moral values and principles, aimed at intimidating Palestinian citizens and assaulting their feelings in an unprecedented provocative manner." The ministry also condemned the "statements and positions of the fascist Israeli minister Itamar Ben Gvir, who supported this aggression and defended its perpetrators, attempting to provide them protection after the occupation army detained them. This constitutes explicit support from Ben Gvir and blatant incitement for this provocative act, reflecting the behavior of terrorist militias rather than an organized army." The ministry called upon the UN Secretary-General and the international community to activate an international protection system for the Palestinian people against "the tyranny, abuse, and terrorism of the occupying army and its settlers, including the protection of civilians, places of worship, hospitals, schools, and all civil institutions."
