After Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi announced on Tuesday that an agreement had been reached among 14 Palestinian factions to form a temporary national reconciliation government to manage Gaza after the war, Hamas's response came forth. Hamas leader Mousa Abu Marzouk stated that the movement, along with Fatah and other Palestinian factions, signed an agreement for "national unity" during a meeting in China.
Abu Marzouk emphasized that the path to completing this journey is through national unity, asserting, "We are committed to national unity and call for it." This came after Wang Yi confirmed on Tuesday, during the signing of the "Beijing Declaration" by the factions in the Chinese capital, that the most significant point was the agreement to form a temporary national reconciliation government to manage Gaza post-war.
The meeting of the Palestinian factions took place in the Chinese capital from July 21 to 23, as stated by China Central Television. The television confirmed that the two movements signed the "Beijing Declaration" regarding the reconciliation dialogue. It also added in a social media post that leaders of the Palestinian factions Fatah and Hamas would meet with media representatives in Beijing on Tuesday, in the presence of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi. It was revealed that a total of 14 Palestinian factions would participate in the meeting, according to China Global Television Network (CGTN).
