The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Division issued the following statement: "On December 16, 2023, sanitation workers discovered the body of an unidentified girl with dark skin placed inside a large bag in a waste container in the Souk El Ahad area. She was bound by her feet and had been struck on the face; there was a phone charger cable around her neck.
Immediate orders were given to the specialized units of the Internal Security Forces to carry out field and investigative procedures to uncover the circumstances of the murder, identify the killer, and apprehend him. As a result of the investigative follow-up, the victim was identified as L.N. (born in 1989, Ethiopian nationality).
Intensive inquiries and investigations led the Information Division to suspect a Sudanese individual, as the victim had a romantic relationship with him. He resides in the Furn El Chebbak area, where he works as a building caretaker, and his name is H.A. (born in 1993). On December 22, 2023, after careful surveillance, a patrol from the division managed to arrest him at his workplace and residence. Upon searching him, his mobile phone and a wallet containing two photos of asylum requests from the United Nations under different names were seized.
During the investigation, he confessed to the charges against him regarding the murder, citing disputes with the victim due to their romantic relationship. He added that following an argument, he struck her on the head with a glass plate, causing her to fall, and her face hit a glass table, resulting in scratches. He then strangled her with a phone charger cable and bound her feet with tape. After confirming she was dead, he put her in a bag, transported her from his home using a waste container intended for collecting building waste, and disposed of her in the landfill in the Souk El Ahad area.
Afterward, he returned home, cleaned it, disposed of the carpet, plate, and table, and cleaned the waste container of blood traces, placing it in the electrical room. It was also revealed that he had entered the country illegally through Syria and was using different identities with the names of other individuals to navigate and work. Legal measures were taken against him, and he was placed under the authority of the relevant judicial reference."
