Barcelona is preparing to finalize the signing of Nico Williams, the star of Athletic Bilbao, during the current summer transfer window. The club has made an official offer to the player's agent and is awaiting a final decision to activate the buyout clause in his contract with Athletic Bilbao, which is set at 58 million euros. According to "Mundo Deportivo," Barcelona has decided not to send Deco, the sporting director, to accompany the team on their preparatory tour in the United States due to the Williams deal. Instead, club president Joan Laporta traveled with the Barcelona delegation, while Deco remained in Catalonia, as they expect to complete the Williams deal this week. The report noted that Barcelona hopes Williams will choose to play for them over transferring to Paris Saint-Germain or remaining with Athletic Bilbao. Nico Williams is contracted with Athletic Bilbao until the summer of 2027.
