FIBA Basketball World Cup in Lebanese Regions

The International Basketball Federation, in coordination with its Lebanese counterpart, will display the World Cup trophy, which will be lifted by the winning team of the Men's World Championship on September 10, in several Lebanese regions over three days: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, on May 5, 6, and 7. The trophy will tour the 32 countries participating in the World Cup, set to take place between August 25 and September 10 in Japan, Indonesia, and the Philippines, just a few months before the start of the biggest international basketball event, in which Lebanon is participating, drawn into Group 8 with France, Latvia, and Canada.

In detail, the trophy, named after Canadian Dr. James Naismith, the inventor of basketball, will be showcased in various Lebanese regions. It will arrive at Rafik Hariri International Airport on Friday, May 5, around noon, and then will tour several locations in Lebanon according to the following schedule:

- **Friday, May 5**: Batroun City (Roman Theater) from 3 PM to 6 PM. The trophy display coincides with the launch of the Spring Festival in the city. The World Cup will also be broadcast live on "Lebanese Broadcasting Corporation International" studios between 7 PM and 8 PM.

- **Saturday, May 6**:

- Zahle City (Commercial Market) from 10 AM to 12 PM.

- Dbayeh: ABC Complex from 1:30 PM to 4 PM and from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM. Current and former players of the Lebanese men's basketball team will be present at this stop.

- **Sunday, May 7**:

- Sidon City (Khan el-Franj) from 10 AM to 12 PM.

- City Center (Hazmieh) from 1:30 PM to 4 PM and then from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM.

The Lebanese Basketball Federation invites the basketball community, journalists, photographers, and basketball fans of all ages and their families to join the World Cup trophy tour. In this context, the federation has taken all necessary organizational measures and arrangements for the World Cup tour in Lebanon. The Asian Federation had previously showcased the Asia Cup in collaboration with the Lebanese Federation in several Lebanese regions before the Men's Asia Cup competition, where the Cedar team bravely secured second place.
