Allowing Russian Judges to Participate in the Olympics

Russian judges Dmitry Andreev and Lyubov Andrianova have been permitted to officiate at the upcoming Olympic gymnastics competition scheduled to take place in Paris, France. This was reported by Valentina Rodionienko, a member of the Presidium of the Russian Artistic Gymnastics Federation. According to her, the judges are members of the technical committees of the International Gymnastics Federation. Rodionienko commented, "There were concerns about whether Andreev and Andrianova would be allowed to work at the Olympics; it is important for us that Russian specialists have the opportunity to see everything with their own eyes." She added, "This experience is worth a lot." Last September, the International Gymnastics Federation granted Russia three spots in both the men's and women's competitions for the 2024 World Cup, with the understanding that Russian athletes would compete under a neutral status; however, the Russians refused this condition and did not participate in the qualifying competition for the Paris Olympics.
