Egyptian Government Reveals Surprise Regarding Electricity by Next Weekend

The spokesperson for the Egyptian Cabinet, Mohamed El-Homsani, confirmed that by the end of next week, the necessary reserves of petroleum products will be completed to halt the load-shedding plan during the summer. The official spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office stated on Sunday evening that the Prime Minister monitored during a meeting at the government headquarters in the new administrative capital the plan to build strategic fuel reserves needed for electricity generation, which includes increasing strategic reserves of mazut and diesel.

He indicated that this falls within the framework of the government's commitment to end the load-shedding plan in the third week of July, as previously announced. El-Homsani noted that the Ministry of Finance will provide the required funding to purchase the necessary petroleum products to stop the load-shedding plan during the summer. He asserted that by the end of next week, the required reserves will indeed be completed.

A source from the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy in Egypt mentioned that there is a step to temporarily halt the load-shedding plan in some Egyptian governorates, emphasizing that the halt is temporary until further instructions are issued. The source, according to the Egyptian newspaper "Al-Ahram," stated that the governorates where the load-shedding plan is temporarily halted are "Alexandria, Kafr El-Sheikh, Dakahlia, and Damietta."
