After meeting in Cairo in 2018 and visiting the Pyramids of Giza, the tallest man and the shortest woman in the world have reunited. Sultan Kosen, who stands at 251 cm tall, and Jyoti Amge, who is 62.8 cm tall, met in California yesterday, Monday. A video capturing this unusual encounter has spread across social media.
It is noteworthy that Turkish Sultan Kosen officially became the tallest living man in the world in 2009, when it was discovered that he exceeded the previous record holder, Bao Xishun, by more than 10 cm, according to The Telegraph. He also holds the record for the largest hands, with each hand measuring 28.5 cm from the wrist to the tip of the middle finger.
Kosen experienced normal growth until the age of ten. However, a tumor in his pituitary gland caused him to suffer from gigantism. The 41-year-old, who has 241,000 followers on Instagram, requires specially made clothing and sleeps in a bed that measures 3 meters in length.
On the other hand, Indian actress Jyoti Amge, who is 30 years old, weighed 5 kg at the age of 18. Her small stature is due to a form of dwarfism called achondroplasia, meaning she will never grow beyond a certain height. At the age of fifteen, she received the record title for the shortest teenager, and three years later, she became the shortest woman in the world, a title she has held since then. Amge, who has 1.4 million Instagram followers, achieved her dream of becoming the shortest actress in the world after appearing in the American television series American Horror Story.
