Microsoft has announced updates to the Skype application to enhance it and make it competitive among video communication apps. Microsoft indicated that it launched an update for the Skype app dedicated to Windows 11, which removed some bugs that affected the app's performance and introduced new features for users.
The new beta version of the app is available to users of the Skype Insider program. Notably, this version will not display ads, which users have consistently complained about, and its usage is easier and smoother compared to previous versions of the Skype app, offering greater speed in performance.
This version also introduced several new features, such as the ability to share images created using the Copilot AI assistant, which can be accessed directly from the chat interfaces in the app. The developers also fixed some bugs related to sound notifications and the app's operation when connected to 5G networks.
