The Israeli shekel fell 1.5% against the dollar, and Tel Aviv stocks dropped by more than 1% today, Monday, as concerns grew among investors about a potential attack on Israel by Iran and Hezbollah. The price of the Israeli currency reached 3.77 shekels to the dollar by 12:55 GMT, down from 3.72 shekels on Friday, and higher than the lowest level recorded earlier in the session at 3.78 shekels. Phoenix data indicated that implied volatility measures for the shekel surged sharply in recent days, with the three-month index rising to about 11%, the highest level since November.
