Fierce Clashes in Rafah: Has the Israeli Invasion Begun?

Israeli media reported early on Tuesday that Israeli army forces, which advanced near the Al-Awda Mosque in Rafah, are engaged in fierce clashes under heavy aerial support with Palestinian resistance factions. The Hebrew site "Kod Kod" stated that "Israeli forces are currently fighting fierce battles in the city of Rafah, while ground troops operate under intense air cover," noting that "Israeli army tanks are advancing towards the center of Rafah."

According to Palestinian sources, gunfire is ongoing and intense in the center of Rafah, particularly on the main street, with heavy shelling in western Rafah around the Tel Sultan neighborhood. The sources added that "quadcopters" are firing in the vicinity of the Emirati hospital, Tal Zarab, and the Al-Zaarba area, coinciding with very heavy shelling around the Emirati hospital in western Rafah.

Several areas in Rafah are experiencing significant displacement due to the Israeli artillery shelling targeting homes around the Zarb Roundabout, Tel Sultan, and the Saudi neighborhood, according to Palestinian media.

Simultaneously, as heavy bombardment continues in the city of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip, Israeli fighter planes and artillery have carried out extensive airstrikes in northern Gaza, resulting in the destruction of a residential neighborhood and a large number of homes in the Al-Falouja area of the Jabalia camp. According to Palestinian sources, Israeli shelling on a house in Beit Hanoun in the northern part of the Strip resulted in the deaths and injuries of several citizens, along with significant destruction in the area.
