Republican candidate Donald Trump revealed that he received a message from Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas. He stated that "the Palestinian president informed him that he wants peace and tolerance," adding that he received the message following an assassination attempt in Pennsylvania on July 14. According to the message, Abbas wished Trump strength and safety, affirming that "acts of violence should have no place in a world of law and order." Trump commented on the message in his handwriting at the bottom, saying, "Mamdouh is very nice, thank you. Everything will be alright." Trump will meet Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Friday at his resort in Florida. He noted that during his presidency "we enjoyed peace and stability in the region, as well as the signing of the Abraham Accords, and we will repeat it once again."
