The UAE weather authorities have dispelled fears of a repeat of last week's rainfall, stating that the expected rains this week "will not be comparable" to what occurred last week, according to local media. The National Center of Meteorology in the UAE predicts that the weather today, Monday, will be clear to partially cloudy in general, becoming cloudy during the afternoon. Clouds are expected over some northern and eastern regions of the country tonight and tomorrow morning, with a possibility of light to moderate rainfall at times, accompanied by a rise in temperatures.
The center clarified that the winds will be light to moderate, occasionally active, blowing from the southeast and northeast at speeds of 10 to 20 kilometers per hour, possibly reaching 35 kilometers per hour. It also noted that the sea in the Arabian Gulf will be light to medium, with the first high tide occurring at 12:23, the second at 00:54, the first low tide at 18:22, and the second at 07:10.
Recently, the United Arab Emirates has experienced exceptional rainfall, the highest intensity recorded in 75 years. The Emirati news agency "WAM" reported that last week's rainfall is the heaviest since climate data has been recorded starting in 1949. This heavy rainfall is an exceptional event contributing to increasing the annual average of rainfall in the UAE, as well as enhancing the groundwater reserves in the country overall.
