Minister of Communications Johnny Al-Quram reassured that the crisis of diesel shortages in central offices, which is causing some to go out of service, is moving towards a resolution if the requested subsidy from the government is approved tomorrow. He reminded in an interview with "Voice of Lebanon" that the tariffs have been adjusted, but collection based on these tariffs has not yet started, set to begin on the fifteenth of this month. Al-Quram revealed that malfunctions occurred today in the central offices of Qarnail, Al-Mikhtar in Abdat, and Wadi Khaled. Regarding the unregulated private internet file, Al-Quram disclosed that the ministry will give citizens a grace period to cancel subscriptions with private and illegal companies before disconnecting them, especially in areas where internet service is available through Ogero. Al-Quram denied information about the establishment of a third telecom company for the army via Nokia through an American grant, noting that a third company is already licensed but has not been activated. Concerning the new budget and the taxes it contains in dollars, Al-Quram clarified that dollarization will not encompass all fees, rather traders who pay taxes on goods in Lebanese pounds and collect them from citizens in dollars, to maintain the balance of supply and demand for the dollar.
